Holi, also called the Festival of Colours, is a popular Hindu spring festival.
Today there was a smallish event in Manchester, I could not really get right into the action due to not wearing old clothes and not covering my camera up first, something to remember for next year.

Went to the photography show at the NEC today, nothing cheap and an awful lot of stand displaying/selling frames and photo book. Loads of talks and seminars, missed the Canon one I really want to see, but saw and learnt a lot from one on off camera flash. I also saw first hand what a good photographer can do with a model, she looked a little ropey in the flesh but stunning in the shots from the flash demo.
I did manage to snap a shot of the model on the Hasseblad stand, with my camera, I did not want to wait to use the blad.

It’s the August Bank Holiday so it must be Pride weekend in Manchester the annual lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT)festival. As usual a very colourful parade with lots of flamboyant people to photograph. Unfortunately due to a couple of the artists complaints there has been no photography of act on the main stage from the press pit, even for those of us who have photo accreditation passes.
