Hammer Throwing (Athletics)

It’s been a very sunny weekend, great for spectators but hard for photography with the very bright harsh light. The Mid Lancs Track and Field League moved to Preston Sports Arena for round 4.

With permission to take photos from inside the track and on the field it gave an opportunity to try and get some of the throwing events, without the need for a very long and expensive lens.

Leverhume Park Athletics

Another weekend and another track and field event. Today was the third round of the Mid Lancs League track and field season at Leverhume park Bolton. We did not stay that long as there was a very large entry for the 100m and it looked like the later events may have been cancelled. Luckly we did manage to get some shots of the high jump, before leaving.

Today was round 2 of the Mid Lancs League Track and Field season, with most of the seniors away at more prestigious events it was an event for the junior runners to score points.

It was a day to keep checking camera setting too (which I forgot to AGAIN!) with shutter speeds in the very sunny early afternoon up to 1/3200 and down to 1/160 later in the dulling day.
