Holi, also called the Festival of Colours, is a popular Hindu spring festival.
Today there was a smallish event in Manchester, a little cold out so not as many folk around as I’d hoped.

Schools Cross Country

Today was the Lancashire Schools Cross Country Championships 2010, at Witton Park Blackburn. Events in 4 age groups and both boys and girls, with the top 5 in each race being selected for the county team to race in the national championships in March. Lucky the weather is getting better now so no more tears due to the cold. I have a large selection of images from the event in the gallery at Whiteflyer Photography

As Britain continues to feel the effects of the current cold snap, photographers get the once in a life time chance to shoot something a little different. Today a short trip out with friends Dave and John to get photos of the frozen water at Birkacre Weir and Fish ladder.

Despite the recent weather, Lancashire was one of only 3 counties who decide to hold the scheduled county cross country championships this weekend. The race are in age groups from Under 11 to Veteran, with the Under 11s to be first off in the coldest temperatures at -4C
