I know that I said there would be no more running photos, but as it’s very local I took a few shots at Rivington Pike Fell Race this afternoon (just before the snow). For those who know the area the race is from The Crown in Horwich up to the pike and back, a hard steep walk never mind running up there. It must have been extra hard this year as it was cold and blowing a gale on the top, to be honest I was glad to get back down and did not wait for all the runners to pass.

While I was at the hockey tournament yesterday I took the opportunity to take the most popular shot in Blackpool this year the Riverdance. Unfortunately I never even thought about the tide being in, so my shot gets the prize for worse Riverdance image so far.

Blackpool Hockey

Blackpool Easter Hockey Festival is a 4 day tournament for hockey teams from all over Britain. The Friday weather was changeable to say the least, bright sunshine to sleet and hail with everything in-between. The only constant, it being bitterly cold.

Games are played to full hockey rules, but are only 20 minutes long and there is only one half. With the day starting at 10.00 am until 6.00 pm and only 2 minutes break between games there is plenty going on. Teams can be male, female or mixed.
